Training has been going well. I’ve started another round of P90X to help train for the Super Spartan in Seattle which is 3 weeks away. In the past few weeks I’ve completed two races, the Shamrock Run Half and the latest Zombies Run virtual race. Continue reading 2016 Shamrock Run and Zombies Run Virtual 5k

I participated in my first race where something chases you. This added a new dimension to a traditional run that made it a little more exciting too! The Energy Events Run2Survive ZombieFest 5k was really a fun run! I believe the race was closer to 4k than 5k, but the distance didn’t matter.
I got there wicked early and got a chance to stroll around the plaza to take in all of the vendors and booths. There was an area marked off for Zombie painting, to give the Zombies a more scary look, if they needed it. There was also the alcohol area, that have plenty of room for people, Kraken and Jose Cuervo Cinge for post race goodness. Continue reading Run2Survive ZombieFest 5k(ish)
Welcome to my recap of the 2014 Warrior Dash in New Plains OR, Race with my Mom edition. This was my first Warrior Dash that we did not receive a timing chip to race with, which I new a few other racers had mentioned that they were sad that it wasn’t timed. I didn’t mind that it wasn’t timed. I was racing with my mom for her first Warrior Dash and I think her second “mud run”. Continue reading 2014 Warrior Dash
I attended the first ever Fire Dash at the Portland International Raceway a few weeks ago and it was really fun. I had never been a part of a first ever race, so it was a little interesting. I got there an hour before my heat, which was recommended. I was a little shocked at what I saw. a mostly empty parking lot and staging area. There was a total of 6 tents, registration, 4 vendors (only one had food and drink) and a DJ. The Fire Dash people sent an email a few days before the race to give you your waivers and starting information. I should have known that it was going to be a small crowd when there were only two starting times. Continue reading 2014 The Fire Dash
This was, by far, the most fun mud run I have ever done. It was a little challenging and great practice for the Spartan Beast next week. I’m glad I was able to use my gear for this as I found out that the half gloves that I was planning on wearing are not good to use. Once they get wet, they make everything more slippery and not sticky. The only obstacle that I failed on what the ring swings, mostly due to my hands being extra slippery. Thanks gloves.

What’s the one thing you can count on from a race? A finish line? Bananas? Well, yes, but also flyers for other upcoming races! I found out about the Fire Dash and Zombie Fest. The Fire Dash is a unique obstacle course that is designed to simulate fire fighting situations that benefits the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Double bonus if you ask me. Then the Zombie Fest, another race that you have to outrun zombies. The Races page has been updated!
This run, I had a contest on Facebook that whoever donated the most money to St. Judes got to pick what I raced in. My friend Seth and his family donated were the highest bidders and chose Lion-O from the Tundercats. What a great choice! This was also my second Warrior Dash in two days. My official completion time was 54:13.15. Continue reading 2012 Warrior Dash – Day 2
This might be the last year for the four of us to race in the PNW Warrior Dash as a group. It was our third year and due to Sarah moving to NY for work, it was decided that we all dress as different versions of David Bowie. Official race time: 47:14.45.
