Training has been going well. I’ve started another round of P90X to help train for the Super Spartan in Seattle which is 3 weeks away. Run2Survive ZombieFest 5k(ish)
I participated in my first race where something chases you. This added a new dimension to a traditional run that made it a little more exciting too! The Energy Events Run2Survive ZombieFest 5k was really a fun run! I believe the race was closer to 4k than 5k, but the distance didn’t matter.
I got there wicked early and got a chance to stroll around the plaza to take in all of the vendors and booths. There was an area marked off for Zombie painting, to give the Zombies a more scary look, if they needed it. There was also the alcohol area, that have plenty of room for people, Kraken and Jose Cuervo Cinge for post race goodness. Continue reading Run2Survive ZombieFest 5k(ish)
2014 Warrior Dash
Welcome to my recap of the 2014 Warrior Dash in New Plains OR, Race with my Mom edition. This was my first Warrior Dash that we did not receive a timing chip to race with, which I new a few other racers had mentioned that they were sad that it wasn’t timed. 2014 The Fire Dash
I attended the first ever Fire Dash at the Portland International Raceway a few weeks ago and it was really fun. I had never been a part of a first ever race, so it was a little interesting. I got there an hour before my heat, which was recommended. I was a little shocked at what I saw. a mostly empty parking lot and staging area. There was a total of 6 tents, registration, 4 vendors (only one had food and drink) and a DJ. The Fire Dash people sent an email a few days before the race to give you your waivers and starting information.
