I didn’t know any better, so I had a Yoda backpack that had a waterproof speaker that had Yoda talking every minute or so. Why was this a bad choice? The first mud pit, Yoda became a 40 lbs deadweight. Through the 100+ yard uphill army crawl under barbed wire, Yoda had many stitches break.
GoPro wrist shots from the Spartan Race 2012 in Washougal MX Park. I accidentally turned off the GoPro 40 minutes into my 2.5 hour race. Here are the highlights…
The first obstacle.. this type of obstacle got much harder as the race went on. Oh.. taller too.
Had to pull up a cement block up to the top and bring it down without dropping it. Glad I wore gloves!
Big ass slip and slide. This was fun!
Sloosh!! into the mud!
This sandbag was heavy.
Yoda is crawling too..
Yup.. that exactly how I felt…
I just love the smile on her face on this shot..
Yup.. still working… for a few more minutes..
Pulling the cinderblock..
Jumping the fire!
I was too tired to move, so I just let the beatings happen. One of the Spartans said, “Oh, did someone have a bad day?” No, I had a glorious day! AROOOO!
…. and done! Whoosh!
I AM SPARTAN!! That was the most challenging run I have ever done. The 100 yard+ uphill, muddy, bar wire crawl kicked my ass. Took 2.5 hours to do a 5k. Can’t wait for next year.
Yoda is retired from OCR.
